ABOUT THE DESIGN:

There are times when life is tough, and we have to cling to joy -- like holding onto the side of a small boat amid a ferocious storm. White knuckled, we hold on and cry out to God to make it through. Joy is hard to find in those moments.

Then there are times when we are in the "everyday life" boat, and we need to choose joy. The storms still come, some big, some small, but we are practicing choosing joy.

I believe that when we choose joy, time and time again, and flex that "joy muscle" over and over again, there will come a time when we start to radiate joy. For some, this happens more naturally; for others, it's a learned practice, habit, or choice.

All of us can radiate joy; after all, it is a fruit of the spirit we already have dwelling inside us! If we choose it in simple moments as parents, as husbands, as wives, if we choose it at work, during pick-up soccer, and on our commute, we will start to radiate it.

And when we radiate joy from the inside out, the people around us will notice, and we can explain that it is only through Jesus is this type of joy possible.
